IPL 2022 – 3 Players who have an outside chance of making it into the India World T20 Squad

The IPL 2022 season has reached a fever pitch, with the season hitting the halfway point last evening. With the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup set to take place in Australia later this year, every fan worth his salt has his own take on that XI in blue. On October 23, Rohit Sharma and his team will kick off their campaign against archrivals Pakistan. There have, however, been those who have attempted to upset the apple cart.

Nobody can deny that great performances in the IPL are the most direct path to the Indian playing XI. A few players have made a strong case for themselves due to their outstanding performance in the first half of the IPL 2022. Now, we don’t exactly know how the rest of the tournament will pan out for them, but in this article, we are going to talk about 3 players, who have an outside chance of getting into the India World T20 Squad. This is with reference to their performances so far in the season.

Number 1. Kuldeep Yadav

While Kuldeep grabbed the cricket world by storm between the Champions Trophy in 2017 and the ODI World Cup in 2019, the time thereafter has been lacklustre. At worst, it’s a complete nightmare. Not only was the spinner sidelined from the Indian team, but he was also sidelined from his IPL team.

However, with newfound support from his new team, the Delhi Capitals, Kuldeep may be able to put that behind him. He’s already taken 13 wickets in seven games, at an economy of 8.47 runs per over. More importantly, he has looked in his mojo for the proper line and length.

The 27-year-old has begun to rediscover some of his former sparkle.

Kuldeep Yadav, with his distinct skill set, has a strong chance of making the Indian XI, especially with the support of captain Rohit Sharma and the rest of the new management.

Number 2. T Natarajan

T Natarajan, who was briefly a member of the Indian squad in all three formats, suffered a setback due to injuries in the previous year or so. Furthermore, the new management’s desire for multi-dimensional players hasn’t helped his chances.

However, ‘Salem Starc’ has made a solid case for himself in the IPL 2022, with 15 wickets from seven matches at an average of 14.53. His outstanding performance has been a significant part of Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) extraordinary recovery in IPl 2022, with five wins in a row.

While Natarajan does not provide extra runs like Deepak Chahar, he is exceptionally effective at his major feature. With his command of the yorkers at the back end, he is a strong contender for a spot on that team.

Number 3. Umran Malik

Right now, Umran Malik’s reputation is like a cryogenic rocket on steroids. It is exploding inexorably. After establishing himself as the league’s unquestioned quickest bowler, the Sunrisers Hyderabad fast bowler has now demonstrated that his control is on par with his pace.

The fact that he is still a work-in-progress should frighten not only other IPL clubs, but also international teams. Umran’s ability to consistently hit 150 mph is unique in Indian cricket. This increases his oomph factor.

Umran would be difficult to overlook for selectors given that the matches will be played on fast Australian grounds. He is only the fourth bowler in IPL history to deliver a maiden in the 20th over. More so, as they seek an X-Factor in a lineup that has struggled to break up batting lineups in recent years.
