IPL 2022 – Dewald Brevis hit the longest six in IPL 2022

The first half of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 has come to an end, and spectators have been treated to some thrilling clashes on the 22-yard line. While Jos Buttler and KL Rahul have been scoring runs for pleasure, Yuzvendra Chahal and T Natarajan have been taking wickets. The points table is similarly topsy-turvy at the halfway point, and it will be interesting to watch which four teams make the playoffs.

When dashers like Jos Buttler, Andre Russell, and Kieron Pollard are on the field, you shouldn’t expect anything less. Surprisingly, Dewald Brevis’ willow has produced the longest six so far in the tournament. This 18-year-old youngster, dubbed “Baby AB,” has certainly created a name for himself in the ongoing competition. The Mumbai Indians player has demonstrated amazing character and appears to be the next big thing in world cricket.

Brevis has hit eight sixes so far this season, with the largest coming against the Punjab Kings on April 13. He faced off against in-form leg-spinner Rahul Chahar and hammered him for four consecutive sixes, two of which were over 100 metres. His longest strike was a 112-meter six, which he deposited in the crowd.

This was also the joint-third longest stretch in IPL history, as the Under-19 sensation now ranks alongside legends like Chris Gayle and MS Dhoni. Meanwhile, in addition to Brevis, the likes of Jos Buttler and Liam Livingstone have been hitting it big this season, with multiple 100-meter sixes.
