KL Rahul was punished for breaking the Code of Conduct, and Marcus Stoinis was also admonished

KL Rahul, the captain of the Lucknow Super Giants, was found guilty of violating the IPL Code of Conduct during Tuesday’s game against Royal Challengers Bangalore (April 19). As a result, the right-handed batsman has been penalised 20% of his match expenses. Marcus Stoinis, Rahul’s teammate, was also penalised for violating the Code of Conduct during the same match.

Despite the fact that the players’ actions were not stated, Stoinis is likely to have been penalised for arguing with the umpire following a contentious wide ruling. Josh Hazlewood of the Royal Challengers Bangalore bowled a delivery outside the tramline, according to reports. Stoinis was clearly irritated that the on-field umpire did not rule the ball wide. The Australian all-rounder was removed in the next ball, and his disappointment was palpable. In the meantime, both players have admitted to the offence and have agreed to the charges.

Meanwhile, at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai, RCB won by 18 runs after LSG failed to chase down 182. Faf du Plessis, the captain, made his bat talk in the game, scoring 96 runs off 64 deliveries. Despite a top-order collapse, LSG managed to record 181/6 thanks to his efforts. With the ball, pacer Josh Hazlewood was the standout performer, taking four wickets in the game.
