IPL 2022 – The best Lucknow Super Giants Lineup to face the Royal Challengers Bangalore

Newcomers Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) continue to astound everyone with their constant performances in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. LSG are presently third in the points table, having won four of their last six matches. Their skipper KL Rahul struck a great century against the Mumbai Indians in their previous game and will seek to lead from the front in their next group stage match against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

LSG have defeated the defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Delhi Capitals (DC), and Mumbai Indians (MI) thus far. They have, however, lost to the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Gujarat Titans (GT). After defeating MI, LSG will look to continue their winning ways against RCB.

After a convincing victory in their previous encounter, LSG are likely to field the same lineup that defeated the five-time champions. Manish Pandey, who was named in the side and contributed a crucial 38-run innings in the previous encounter, would want to contribute with the bat in the forthcoming match as well.

Here is the best Lucknow Super Giants lineup to face the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock continue to open the innings

KL Rahul, the skipper, was impressive in the previous encounter, scoring a great century and propelling his team to a sub-par total. Rahul also smashed 68 against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The skipper will try to build on his recent success against the RCB.

Quinton de Kock, the wicketkeeper-batsman, also contributed a brief but essential 24 against the five-time champs. His greatest innings of 80 off 52 balls came against Delhi Capitals (DC), enabling the side to easily chase down the 149-run target. De Kock, on the other hand, will want to deliver regularly for the Super Giants, given his seniority in the playing XI.

Manish Pandey, Marcus Stoinis and Ayush Badoni solidify the middle order

Manish Pandey, who was selected in place of Krishnappa Gowtham, demonstrated some mettle by scoring an important 38 off just 29 balls. The right-handed batsman smashed six fours in his innings and will be looking to contribute with the bat again in the forthcoming encounter.

Both hitters, Marcus Stoinis and rookie Ayush Badoni, have been instrumental in their franchise’s success. Stoinis scored 38 runs in just 17 balls against RR, but was unable to secure victory for his side. On the other side, Badoni has been unable to establish himself in the previous two encounters. He will try to perform well in the upcoming encounter in order to contribute significantly to the team’s victory over the Red Army.

Deepak Hooda, Krunal Pandya and Jason Holder add depth and all-round support

One of the LSG team’s primary strengths is the presence of seasoned all-rounders. Deepak Hooda, Krunal Pandya, and Jason Holder have all contributed to the team’s successes. Hooda smashed a 51-run knock against the Orange Army and has been instrumental in the team’s totals with the bat.

Krunal and Holder have both struggled with the bat thus far. However, both all-rounders have bowled some tight lines and lengths in the match’s early and middle stages. The duo will seek to apply pressure with the bowling against a strong-looking Royal Challengers Bangalore batting line-up.

Dushmantha Chameera, Ravi Bishnoi and Avesh Khan form the bowling attack

Dushmantha Chameera, the pacer, was fairly costly in his previous match against MI, conceding 48 runs in his four-over quota. However, the fast pacer claimed the vital wicket of Kieron Pollard (25 off 14 balls) and helped his team win. The 30-year-old has been backed by the LSG management, and he will want to demonstrate that they were correct following his performance against RCB.

Ravi Bishnoi, on the other side, has taken five wickets in six encounters. Although the spinner has not taken enough wickets, his variations have worried the hitters. His finest 2/22 figures came against DC. Similarly, pacer Avesh Khan, who was acquired for INR 10 crore by the club, has been performing admirably, justifying his price tag. Avesh and Bishnoi’s bowling abilities will be put to the test in their upcoming match against RCB.
