IPL 2022 – The BEST Playing XI for the Chennai Super Kings to face the Gujarat Titans

On April 17, the Chennai Super Kings will face the Gujarat Titans in IPL 2022 Match 29 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. Both teams will be brimming with confidence as they prepare for this match. After four consecutive defeats, the reigning champions CSK recorded a morale-boosting 23-run victory over the Royal Challengers Bangalore to earn their first points of the season.

Prior to the last encounter, the Chennai bowlers had struggled to find their rhythm this season, but they rediscovered their rhythm while defending a score in excess of 200, putting pressure on Bengaluru’s renowned batting line-up, which proved far too strong in the end. Following their victory in the last encounter, the Yellow Army will attempt to use the same starting XI in this contest as well. They may, however, put Mukesh Choudhary in front of Rajvardhan Hangargekar.

There are many aspects for the CSK camp to consider as they go against the mighty and high flying Gujarat Titans side and in this article, we are going to name our predicted XI for the Chennai Super Kings to face the Gujarat Titans.

Ruturaj Gaikwad and Robin Uthappa to continue opening the innings

Ruturaj Gaikwad, last season’s Orange Cap champion, has yet to make an impression in the current season. The Maharashtra cricketer has scored just 35 runs in five matches, averaging seven and striking at an 85.37 rate. He’ll be hungry to play a big innings against a powerful Gujarat bowling attack.

On the other side, Robin Uthappa surged back to form with a spectacular 88-run knock off 50 deliveries. He created the groundwork for Chennai, who eventually posted a match-winning score of 216/4 from their 20 overs. The seasoned opener would be expected to fire on all cylinders once again against GT.

Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni and Shivam Dube add spice to the middle order

During this pivotal battle, all eyes will be on CSK’s middle order. Ambati Rayudu struck a match-winning one-handed stunner to dismiss in-form Dinesh Karthik in the last game, but CSK will be hopeful the Andhra cricketer regains his batting form on the 22 yard mark. Meanwhile, MS Dhoni has been inconsistent since his unbroken 50 in the curtain-raiser against KKR, and CSK urgently need his finishing touch going forward.

With his steady performances, Shivam Dube has been CSK’s batting backbone. The middle-order wonder was named Player of the Match against Bangalore after scoring 95 runs off 46 deliveries at a remarkable strike rate of 206. Dube may have missed out on his century by a hair’s breadth, but he’ll be looking to make apologies in the following encounter.

Ravindra Jadeja and Dwayne Bravo come in as all-rounders

Ravindra Jadeja has scored 66 runs in five matches, with an undefeated 26 as his highest individual score. The CSK captain will be expecting to take on additional responsibilities with the bat. Additionally, the southpaw has four scalps and was responsible for a rampaging Glenn Maxwell in the last game.

Dwayne Bravo eclipsed Sri Lankan legend Lasith Malinga to become the IPL’s all-time greatest wicket-taker, but he has yet to fire with the bat and would relish the opportunity to do so in the next game, particularly in the middle and death overs. With the ball in hand, the Caribbean megastar has been brilliant, taking seven wickets in five matches.

Maheesh Theekshana, Mukesh Choudhary and Chris Jordan form the bowling attack

Maheesh Theekshana took the most wickets for CSK in their most recent match against RCB, finishing with match-winning statistics of 4/33 from his four overs. When he comes up against GT’s rock-solid batting line-up, particularly skipper Hardik Pandya, who is in spectacular form, the developing bowler will be expected to let the ball do the talking once again.

Mukesh Choudhury has three scalps from four innings and will be seeking to add to his tally in the coming matches. Chris Jordan, on the other hand, is a seasoned campaigner who has experience shattering some critical alliances. He has taken two wickets in three outings thus far.
