IPL 2022 – Everything you need to know about Suyash Prabhudessai

Despite losing to the Chennai Super Kings, the Royal Challengers Bangalore squad managed by Faf du Plessis has uncovered some outstanding potential in the IPL. Suyash Prabhudessai took the place of Harshal Patel in the starting XI and made the most of his chance to shine on the grandest platform. The right-hander, who represents Goa in regional events, received his first IPL call-up and instantly made an impact with a superb run out to dismiss Moeen Ali.

Moeen played a cut shot through the gap between the short third man and the point area while Prabhudessai was fielding in the point region. The 24-year-old dove in the air to prevent a boundary and also caused a run-out at the batting crease with a bullet throw to the wicketkeeper. Apart from that, Prabhudessai was quite outstanding in the field, capturing the attention of critics who were in awe of his superior fielding abilities.

Coming in at number six, Prabhudessai had a challenging task and was well aware of the growing needed run rate. He smashed 34 off only 18 deliveries at a strike rate of 188.89 and kept his team in the hunt with a key fifth-wicket stand with Shahbaz Ahmed. He smashed five fours and a six in his quickfire innings, and he would be content with his personal performance in his IPL debut even if it did not help his side win.
