IPL 2022 – 3 Teams with the best Super Over lineups

If the match ends in a draw, a Super Over is held to determine the winner. The team that scores the most runs in the super over wins the match. The International Cricket Council replaced the bowl-out with the super over in 2008.

A super over has occurred 14 times in the history of the Indian Premier League. The 2020 season featured a record four super overs. In an unusual twist, the Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings ended up playing two extra overs in the same match in 2020. All of the teams in this edition of the competition have quality batting and bowling options, which will be critical in winning a victory in the one-over match.

All the teams have come loaded with some superstars, but in this article, we are going to rank the top 3 teams with the best super over lineups.

Number 3. Gujarat Titans

Gujarat Titans, one of the most impressive teams in this competition so far, have won their first two matches and are currently in third place in the points table, thanks to their performance. They have equally strong batting and bowling department and are ranked fifth in this rating because of the high caliber of players they have on their roster.

Hardik Pandya, the all-rounder and captain of the Gujarat Tigers, and David Miller, the middle-order hitter for the Proteas, will be the first two batters to face the super over. Both players have extensive experience in the Twenty20 format and in particular the Indian Premier League. Then there’s Tewatia, who, given his present form and the fluid flow of his bat, could be a viable choice.

Rashid Khan, the ICC Men’s Twenty20 International Player of the Decade, will be tasked with the responsibility of winning the match for the team in the super over. In the last tournament, he performed admirably in the super over against the likes of Rishabh Pant and Shikhar Dhawan.

Number 2. Royal Challengers Bangalore

The Royal Challengers Bangalore did a good job in the mega auction by selecting a team that was well-balanced and had all of their bases covered. The team is bolstered by the presence of seasoned Twenty20 players who are known for their ability to perform under duress.

Faf du Plessis, the captain of the Royal Challengers Bangalore, will open the batting for the team in a one-over eliminator as well, with Dinesh Karthik, the player with renowned finishing talents, as his partner. Because of his superior boundary-hitting ability, Australian batter Glenn Maxwell edges over Indian captain Virat Kohli to become the third batsman.

Harshal Patel, the leading wicket-taker in the 2021 edition of the event, will be in charge of the super over for the Royal Challengers Bangalore team. Harshal has the ability to be successful in this area as well, thanks to his ability to bowl dipping slower balls and yorkers around the fifth stump line.

The Rajasthan Royals have put together their best possible team to compete in the Twenty20 World Cup in India. The team boasts explosive T20 hitters and skilled bowling options who can help them to win the super over fixtures and finish first in the super over combination if they perform well.

Jos Buttler, an Englishman who has scored two hundred in the Indian Premier League and is a fantastic hitter of the cricket ball, is a member of the squad. With his regular performances and ability to keep the runs flowing at an incredible rate, Sanju Samson will be the second opener for the team. Shimron Hetmyer, a Windies hitter, takes third place in the IPL rankings thanks to his effortless hitting and strong performance in the tournament.

Trent Boult, a left-arm fast bowler from New Zealand, will be in charge of the bowling unit. Boult has the capacity to churn out yorkers in important moments and can be trusted due to his strong track record in the Twenty20 format.
