IPL 2022 – Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Kolkata Knight Riders Match 6 Dream11 Predictions, Lineups and more

The first round of games in the IPL is officially complete and everyone seems to have got a taste of what the new-look squads are performing like, at least at the onset of the tournament. Taking things forward in the second phase of games, we have the Royal Challengers Bangalore taking on the Kolkata Knight Riders.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore suffered a shock defeat to the Punjab Kings in their first game, despite scoring a massive 205 runs, and they will be looking to right those wrongs in the upcoming game, which may not necessarily be an easy task. The absence of Glenn Maxwell, who recently got married and is taking time off for that, hurt the balance of the RCB, as they lacked players who could crush the spin attack posed by the Punjab Kings and eventually succumbed to a rather embarrassing defeat. Maxwell’s spin bowling has been a proven weapon against Left Handed hitters, who are in abundance on the KKR side. How RCB manages to quash that threat will be interesting to see.

The Kolkata Knight Riders got off to the perfect start to the tournament, when they beat the reigning champions, the Chennai Super Kings, in a show of domination. They seem to have a well-balanced side this season and there is a certain calmness and maturity in their approach under the new skipper Shreyas Iyer, and a win against RCB will clearly be a huge confidence boost to the side who seek to get yet another IPL title for their trophy cabinet.

The match is scheduled to take place on the 30th of March, 2022 at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai.

Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Kolkata Knight Riders Match 6 – Pitch Report

Because of the vast boundaries, this venue has historically not been a high-scoring one. A lot of grass on the ground will not aid the spinners much. It also appears to be tough, so it should be ideal to bat on with decent carry. The par score would be at around 165. The trend has been to chase here, with more than 200 being chased in the previous encounter.

Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Kolkata Knight Riders Match 6 – Players to Watch

Faf du Plessis

The new RCB skipper got off to an absolute flyer in the last game, where he showed the entire fanbase that he still has the fire and the command over his batting. He anchored the innings, played the aggressor, and even was a presence on the field when his team tried to defend the mammoth score. He may have lost the game, but there is still a lot more to come. If there is anyone who knows how to win an IPL title, it is Faf.

Wanindu Hasaranga

The all-rounder was obviously getting warmed up in the first match and while he did leak runs, he was still able to pick up a wicket. He is also known to be a good striker of the ball and the RCB will be counting on him to provide the stability to the middle order. He is yet to show his batting skills as he did not get a chance to come out and strike, but we feel that his services will be in play this match.

Umesh Yadav

He may be catching on in terms of age, but he has expressed his desire to play for the national side in the upcoming World T20 and that he will be using the IPL as a proving ground to show his worth to the selectors. The first game saw him scalp two wickets and conceded only 20 runs from the 4 overs that he bowled. He has got some valuable experience when it comes to pace bowling and if he can put together a consistent season, he will surely be in the reckoning for a place on the national team.

Shreyas Iyer

We did not see a lot of Shreyas Iyer in the first game as he came down the order and although he was unbeaten, the target to chase was not astronomically high for him to score those big runs. However, when you have a team like the RCB against you, big totals are pretty much a given, and that is where we will see the real Shreyas Iyer showing his full arsenal of shots.
