IPL 2022 – Lucknow Super Giants’ predicted Playing XI against the Chennai Super Kings

The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will face the mighty Chennai Super Kings (CSK) after losing their first Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Gujarat Titans (GT) (CSK).

The KL Rahul-led squad recorded a total of 158/6 in their first encounter. Despite the fact that the game had multiple twists and turns, Rahul Tewatia’s amazing finishing flourish ensured that the Gujarat side crossed the finish line.

In their first encounter, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) were defeated by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), who were headed by Shreyas Iyer. The ‘Men in Yellow’ finished with a dismal score of 131/5, while the KKR outfit breezed past the goal without breaking a sweat.

Chennai will be looking to bounce back and who better than against the new kid on the block. In order to beat the Chennai Super Kings, the Lucknow side must field a balance playing XI and in this article, we are going to walk you through our Lucknow predicted XI.

KL Rahul and Quinton de Kock open the innings

The openers for the Lucknow side will be skipper KL Rahul and seasoned batsman Quinton De Kock against the CSK outfit. Rahul had a poor start to his IPL 2022 campaign with the bat, as he was bowled for a golden duck by Mohammed Shami in the previous encounter.

Quinton de Kock, who could only make seven runs, was also unable to add much, as Shami cleaned him up with an absolute jaffa. Lucknow will undoubtedly want this duo to perform well against the MS Dhoni-led team.

Evin Lewis, Manish Pandey, and Deepak Hooda anchor the middle order

In the last encounter, Evin Lewis stayed out in the middle for only nine deliveries. The left-hander hit two fours but was removed after hooking Varun Aaron to Shubman Gill in the deep. Shami rattled his stumps, allowing Manish Pandey to score in the single digits. Lewis and Pandey will be expected to contribute more in the future in Lucknow.

Deepak Hooda contributed significantly to the KL Rahul-led side’s victory over the Gujarat Titans. Hooda, who came in with a score of 13/2, hit 55 off 41 deliveries to help Lucknow reach a total of 158.

Ayush Badoni and Krunal Pandya cap off the all-rounder slots

Ayush Badoni made an outstanding debut with the bat for the Lucknow Super Giants. The right-hander hit a superb 41-ball 54 and shared a thrilling 87-run fifth-wicket stand with Hooda.

Krunal Pandya had a useful cameo near the end of the innings. The left-hander smashed the Gujarat bowling attack with a furious 21* at a strike rate of more than 160. He was very effective with the bowling, allowing only 17 runs in four overs and taking one wicket.

Mohsin Khan, Dushmantha Chameera, Ravi Bishnoi, and Avesh Khan handle the bowling attack

Specialist bowlers Mohsin Khan, Dushmantha Chameera, Ravi Bishnoi, and Avesh Khan will be in the playing XI. Mohsin went wicketless in the previous game, conceding 18 runs in his two overs. Chameera bowled three overs and took two wickets while conceding only 22 runs.

Ravi Bishnoi failed to take a wicket in his previous appearance for Lucknow, giving up 34 runs in the process. In Lucknow’s previous match, right-arm bowler Avesh Khan took David Miller’s wicket but was costly, conceding runs at an economy rate of nine runs per over.
