The BCCI has announced an IPL media rights tender for the 2023-27 cycle, with an e-auction beginning on June 12

On March 29, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the publication of an Invitation to Tender (ITT) for the Indian Premier League’s media rights for the 2023-27 cycle.

The IPL Governing Council solicited proposals from “reputed businesses” to own the media rights via a tender procedure, the details of which, according to a BCCI news release, will be “made available upon receipt of a non-refundable fee of INR 25,00,000.”

“The ‘Invitation to Tender’ (“ITT”), which will be made available upon receipt of payment, contains the detailed terms and conditions governing the tender process, including eligibility requirements, the process for submitting bids, proposed media rights packages, and obligations, among other things,” according to the release. “Until May 10, 2022, the ITT will be available for purchase.”

While any party interested in submitting a bid must purchase the ITT, “only those satisfying the eligibility criteria set out in the ITT and subject to the other terms and restrictions set forth therein shall be eligible to bid,” according to the announcement.

The IPL Governing Council ruled during its last meeting in Mumbai on March 25 that Over The Top (OTT) platforms and numerous broadcasters would not be allowed to bid simultaneously, according to previous reports.
