Mitchell Marsh is set to miss Pakistan’s ODIs due to a hip flexor injury

Mitchell Marsh, Australia’s all-rounder, is doubtful for the ODI series against Pakistan after injured himself during training, skipper Aaron Finch disclosed. Marsh’s absence further depletes the visitors’ bowling attack, which is already missing Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Pat Cummins, and has already lost Kane Richardson to a hamstring injury.

Marsh’s injury also casts question on his availability for the Delhi Capitals, who acquired him during the auction for INR 6.50 crore. He was scheduled to become available for the IPL franchise following the conclusion of the IPL season on April 6.

However, in Australia’s side, Marsh’s absence will almost certainly result in an opportunity for Cameron Green, the 22-year-old allrounder.

Steve Smith is also absent from the squad, as he will rest his elbow injury during the white-ball matches in Pakistan. His absence might pave the way for Marnus Labuschagne to make a comeback in the limited-overs fold.

The first ODI will be played in Lahore on Tuesday (March 29).
