The Rajasthan Royals issue an official statement following reports that Sanju Samson has unfollowed them due to a social media prank
Rajasthan Royals will be hoping to end their title drought in the upcoming IPL 2022, which kicks off on March 26. For the second consecutive season, Sanju Samson will serve as the team’s head coach. The Royals will be pumped going into this edition after making some wise acquisitions during last month’s mega auction.
Meanwhile, it appears as though one of RR’s social media pranks did not go over well with their captain Sanju Samson, who was candid about it. Apart from publicly expressing his disappointment, the Kerala wicketkeeper-batsman is said to have unfollowed the franchise on the microblogging site.
It just so happened that the Rajasthan Royals had recently shared a photo of Sanju Samson allegedly unwinding on the team bus. They chose to take their creative abilities to the next level, however, by adding some filters to make it appear more amusing. The caption read, “Kya khoob lagte ho.”
Nonetheless, Samson did not find it amusing, and he slammed the former champions, saying “It’s fine for friends to do this, but teams should be professional.”
Rajasthan quickly deleted the tweet, but a known Twitter account shared screenshots claiming that Sanju Samson has officially unfollowed the champions of the inaugural edition.
Meanwhile, the Rajasthan Royals have released an official statement in response to their captain Sanju Samson’s dissatisfaction with the team’s latest social media stunt. After the Kerala wicketkeeper-batsman publicly chastised the team for its actions, the Royals have responded with a statement. They have made it abundantly clear that in the aftermath of the most recent incident, they will alter their approach and team on social media.
