In RR’s first practise game, Devdutt Padikkal and Shimron Hetmyer both score big
The Rajasthan Royals have been exercising in the nets for several days, and in preparation for the IPL 2022, the Royals divided its players into two teams – Team Blue and Team Pink – and organized a practice match.
Team Pink batted first and scored 184 runs in 20 overs for the loss of four wickets, with Devdutt Padikkal top-scoring with 67(51). He was joined by all-rounder Riyan Parag, who smashed a 49* off 27 deliveries.
Team Blue scored 169 runs in pursuit of 185 and lost eight wickets against Team Pink. Shimron Hetmyer led Blue in scoring with 70* runs (37). The numbers indicate his batting prowess.
Yuzvendra Chahal added two wickets to his bowling tally while allowing 40 runs in four overs. Kuldeep Sen, on the other hand, was the most impressive player for the opposition, taking three wickets in three overs while conceding only 15 runs.
Rajasthan Royals assembled an excellent lineup in this year’s mega-auction. They have a number of talented players on their side, including Sanju Samson, Chahal, Hetmyer, Padikkal, Ravichandran Ashwin, Jimmy Neesham, and Trent Boult. The squad won the Indian Premier League’s inaugural season and has not won a title since.
Sanju Samson will lead the team, which will be led by Kumar Sangakkara. Amol Mazumdar will serve as batting coach, Lasith Malinga will serve as bowling coach, and Dishant Yagnik will serve as fielding coach. The biggest surprise came when RR hired Malinga as their fast-bowling coach.
