Moeen Ali, the CSK all-rounder, will miss the team’s inaugural match owing to visa concerns

Moeen Ali, England’s all-rounder, will be unavailable for selection for the Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) opening match of the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL) against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) since he has not yet acquired his Indian visa.

Kasi Viswanathan, the CEO of the Chennai Super Kings, acknowledged the same. Viswanathan indicated that the CSK franchise has discussed the matter with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and that the matter would be resolved shortly.

Viswanathan also expressed disappointment that Moeen will miss the CSK’s season-opening match. Viswanathan explained that an unique visa procedure is followed for players of Pakistani ancestry, revealing that this is the primary cause for the delay.

He also added that Moeen will be required to serve a three-day quarantine upon his arrival, after which he will be allowed to enter the bio bubble. The CSK CEO finished by adding that Moeen will very certainly be unable to participate in CSK’s IPL 2022 opener.
