Kane Richardson has been pulled out of the next Pakistan tour due to a hamstring ailment
Australia’s already-scarce team for the ODI series against Pakistan took a blow when Kane Richardson was ruled out of the remainder of the trip with a hamstring injury. Richardson suffered the injury on Monday (March 21) while preparing for the series in Melbourne.
Due to his injury, the selectors have called up left-arm seamer Ben Dwarshuis for the white-ball portion of the trip, which consists of three One-Day Internationals and a single Twenty20 International. Due to the absence of first-choice seamers Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Pat Cummins from the limited-overs contests, Australia will have an inexperienced fast bowling attack.
With 11 games under his belt, Jason Behrendorff will now be the team’s most experienced pacer. While Sean Abbott has appeared in two One-Day Internationals, Dwarshuis and Nathan Ellis have yet to make their international debuts. Cameron Green, Mitchell Marsh, and Marcus Stoinis are Australia’s additional fast bowling options.
