Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul each disclose one batting ability they like to borrow from the other

KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer are themselves interesting batting talents. While Rahul is more classically trained, Iyer is noted for his flamboyance and ferocity. When asked which batting talent they would steal from one another, they stated the following: (during Clubhouse session as quoted by Red Bull content pool).

KL Rahul: He is an exceptional spinner. He is one of those players who rarely venture out; he is a tall lad with a long reach. He simply stands there and knocks them out of the park. This puts the spinners under significant pressure. That is something I fear when he plays in the IPL against our squad.

Shreyas Iyer: He possesses a variety of shots. His flicks against quick bowlers, which usually result in a six! I was in amazement the first time I saw it.

Traveling the world is one of the pleasures of being a professional athlete. And Iyer made the most of his opportunities.

“Prior to the epidemic, I like coming on abroad tours, particularly to the West Indies,” he explained. “Each island has its own distinct culture. Antigua and Trinidad & Tobago are very remarkable countries. I spent a month there. They have incredible beaches and breathtaking mountains. The atmosphere at the stadium is incredible; it’s almost as if you’re at a festival while you’re playing cricket there.

“Also, while we were in Australia, we took advantage of the café culture and sampled a variety of cuisines. As a gamer, you may occasionally need to shut down altogether. When we are out, we attempt to have lunch and dinner. KL and I have visited several times. The previous two years have been quite difficult, as KL witnessed.”

Though Iyer has been competing at the highest level for a long period of time, he made his Test debut only last year.
