RCB hosts match simulation situations as a team-building exercise prior to the start of the new season

The Royal Challengers Bangalore recently practised a number of match situations. Three scenarios were used to train the squad for the upcoming IPL 2022. Head Coach Sanjay Bangar believed that the match simulation situations will aid in the squad players developing a better relationship.

In the first scenario, a goal of 80-90 runs was set, emulating the first ten overs of an innings. The top-order batsmen, Faf du Plessis and Anuj Rawat, were tasked with the task of decreasing the target. Siddharth Kaul and Karn Sharma, both seasoned IPL bowlers, were tasked with bowling the last portions of the 10-over simulation.

Du Plessis and Rawat cruised to victory, hitting a massive 117 runs in ten overs. The captain stayed undefeated on 77, while Rawat made 44 before getting bowled in the last over.

In the second scenario, Sherfane Rutherford and Dinesh Karthik were required to complete a 100-run target in an eight-over span ranging from 12 to 20. Despite Rutherford’s fifty, the pair could only chase down 80 runs as Kaul performed admirably with the ball and prevented them from reaching the mark.

The third and final match scenario put the lower order to the test, with Karn Sharma, Chama Milind, and Aneeshwar Gautam tasked with scoring 40 runs in overs 16-20.
