Hardik Pandya spotted bowling at the NCA, clears Yo-Yo test

Hardik Pandya, India’s star fast-bowling all-rounder, is set to captain the Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 after smoothly completing the ‘Yo-Yo’ Test at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.

According to a report in New Indian Express, Hardik performed well during his two days at the National Cricket Academy, which is a good sign for Gujarat Titans as well as the Indian team.

“Let’s make it clear. Fitness test clearance is only for those who are coming back from injury. In case of Hardik, it was about getting a general fitness assessment going into the gruelling IPL season,” a BCCI source told PTI on conditions of anonymity.”

Also, there was no need for Hardik Pandya to bowl at the National Cricket Academy as it was not made mandatory in his fitness assessment module but he himself bowled for a considerable time at a good speed.

A report from the same publication claims that Prithvi Shaw, a talented Indian opener who currently plays for Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League, has failed to pass the Yo-Yo Test.

Shaw, who has been out of the Indian system for a significant period of time, scored less than 15 on the Yo-Yo test, while the qualifying score for men is 16.5 points or fewer.
