Hardik Pandya attends Final Fitness Test Before IPL Season At The NCA
Hardik Pandya, the Gujarat Titans’ captain, and all-rounder have allegedly arrived at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru for the last fitness test prior to the start of the IPL 2022 season on March 26. He will be subjected to comprehensive fitness testing over the next two days, following which an assessment will be made. Hardik hasn’t bowled at his best after his back surgery and has provided little assistance with the ball for the Indian team.
However, he stated this time that he will prioritize his fitness over the team’s requirements and return when he can bowl regularly. It will be interesting to see if he is able to do so once the IPL season gets underway.
The Indian team’s management has been monitoring the 28-year-old closely during a five-day training camp in Baroda. While he may be capable of playing as a pure batter for the Titans, it is quite improbable that he will be able to do so for India.
Nonetheless, Hardik is a valuable asset to the Indian white-ball team when he is fit, and they will be praying he regains match fitness in the IPL and returns to push Venkatesh Iyer for a spot in the Indian team.
