Steffan Jones has been appointed as the new fast bowling coach for the Rajasthan Royals
Rajasthan Royals (RR) have hired Steffan Jones as their pace bowling coach ahead of the 2022 Indian Premier League (IPL). The 48-year-old will be in charge of offering advice and training to all Royals bowlers.
Jones, who has extensive experience playing for numerous English county teams, will work with the squad at their pre-season camp, which will take place between March 7 and 10 at their Nagpur performance center. Following training, the former pacer will join the group for the duration of the IPL season.
The Royals have a strong pace assault heading into the event, including Trent Boult, Prasidh Krishna, Navdeep Saini, Obed McCoy, Nathan Coulter-Nile, and Kuldeep Sen among others. Yuzvendra Chahal, a veteran leg-spinner, and KC Cariappa, a teenager, will handle the spin department.
Meanwhile, RR director of cricket Kumar Sangakara expressed his delight at the return of the 48-year-old bowler. Jones, according to Sangakara, is well-versed in the franchise’s culture and has previously been praised by both players and management.
