Herath is looking forward to a training camp in Australia to prepare for the T20 World Cup

Rangana Herath, Bangladesh’s spin bowling coach, believes that a camp in Australia before the ICC T20 World Cup later this year will help the team prepare better for the showpiece event. Former national team head coach Chandika Hathurusingha persuaded the board to send the team to Australia well before the 2015 ICC World Cup.

They had flown in two weeks before the global tournament and held a rigorous preparation camp, which may have contributed to Bangladesh’s quarterfinal appearance.

Meanwhile, Herath stressed that they are not planning too far ahead and that they will focus on completing the two-match T20I series against Afghanistan on March 5 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium. While Bangladesh broke an eight-match losing trend with a 61-run victory in the first T20I, Herath emphasized that the task is just half done.
