Ashleigh Gardner of Australia tests positive for Covid-19 and will miss two matches

The ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 will begin on March 4, 2022, at the Bay Oval. In addition, Australian cricketer Ashleigh Gardner has returned a positive result for Covid-19 before the huge event.

Cricket Gardner will miss at least the first two matches that Australia will play against archrivals England and Pakistan, according to Australia. While Australia will face England on March 5th, 2022, they will face Pakistan on March 8th, 2022.

Cricket Australia (CA) verified that all of Australia’s other cricketers tested negative. The announcement also stated that the Australian players will travel to Hamilton for their first World Cup match.

Australian captain Meg Lanning remarked that her team has strong depth in its World Cup lineup and has not relied on just one or two players for success. Lanning finished by remarking that the Australian team would need this depth in their World Cup campaign, adding that the kangaroos will need diverse individuals to come up on the big stage.
