BCCI appoints three member committee to investigate Wriddhiman Saha-Journalist Row

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has appointed a three-member committee to probe a famous journalist’s alleged threat against Indian cricketer Wriddhiman Saha.

On February 19, Saha released a screenshot of a conversation he had with an anonymous journalist, in which the journalist demanded an exclusive interview from the player.

Rajiv Shukla and Arun Dhumal, both senior BCCI executives, will be on the investigation committee that will look into the case of the Indian wicketkeeper-batter, who is claimed to have agreed to divulge the journalist’s identify to the Indian board. The BCCI will begin its inquiry the following week.

Many former Indian cricketers, including Virender Sehwag, Ravi Shastri, Harbhajan Singh, RP Singh, and Pragyan Ojha, expressed their support for Saha when he was harassed by an unnamed writer. Many of them demanded that the Bengal player reveal the scribe’s identify in public.
