Ajit Agarkar has been named as the DC assistant coach

The Delhi Capitals have confirmed that Ajit Agarkar has joined the team as an assistant coach. Former India pacer Shane Watson and Pravin Amre will work alongside head coach Ricky Ponting, bowling coach James Hopes, and two other assistant coaches. Mohammad Kaif and Ajay Ratra, the franchise’s assistant coaches from last season, have also left.

“I am very excited to be a part of the Delhi Capitals squad this season,” said Agarkar.

I’ve been fortunate to have been a player and to be returning in a different capacity. It’s undeniably exciting. We have a young and talented squad led by one of the world’s most talented players, Rishabh Pant. And the coach, Ricky Ponting, is a game legend. I’m excited to work with them and can’t wait to get started and make some special memories.

Agarkar, who has played 26 Tests, 191 ODIs, and four T20Is, has appeared in the IPL for the Delhi Daredevils and Kolkata Knight Riders. The Capitals have yet to name a fielding coach.
