Shikhar Dhawan could make a return for the final ODI against the West Indies

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma confirmed that veteran batsman Shikhar Dhawan will be a part of the playing XI in the final ODI against the West Indies side. The ‘Hitman’ also added that the Indians will not mind losing a few matches and will like to try out some things.

Adding that it is important for India to look at the long-term goals, Sharma said that India will focus on the best team combination that they can field ahead of the 3rd rubber against the Windies.

Talking about Shikhar Dhawan, the left-hander has been in excellent form in ODI cricket. In his last 9 ODI innings, Dhawan has scored 5 half-centuries. The left-hander has featured in 148 ODI matches for the Indian side and has plundered 6274 runs at an average of 45.80.

The 36-year-old has also scored 17 centuries and 35 half-centuries with the willow in hand for the Indian side in the ODI format of the game.
