Daniel Sams will play for the Australian National Team for the Sri Lanka T20I series

Daniel Sams has been added to Australia’s T20I side for the upcoming five-match series against Sri Lanka. Travis Head will miss the start of the series to feature for South Australia in the Sheffield Shield before Australia embark on the tour of Pakistan.

Head will be available for selection for the final two T20Is in the series set to start on February 11. Mitchell March and David Warner have been rested for the series with Josh Hazlewood making a comeback and Ben McDermott also getting a callup.

Sams was one of the reserve players in the Australia side for the ICC T20 World Cup last year. He featured in 15 Big Bash League games in the last edition and bagged 19 wickets. He scored 191 runs with the high score of unbeaten 98 coming against Melbourne Renegades last month.

The series will be played at three venues – Sydney Cricket Ground, Melbourne Cricket Group and the Manuka Oval – between February 11 and 20.
