Virat Kohli Becomes Fastest batsman To score 5000 Runs In Home ODIs

Indian batter Virat Kohli has become the fastest batter in the history of ODIs to score 5000 runs in matches played at home. He achieved the feat during the recently concluded first ODI against West Indies.

Kohli lasted all of one over in the ODI but ended up beating the previous record held by the legendary Sachin Tendulkar. While Tendulkar had managed to do it in 121 innings, Kohli broke the barrier in just his 96th innings.

After the duo, Jacques Kallis holds the third spot having taken 130 innings, and Ricky Ponting is in fourth place having achieved the feat in 138 innings. Kohli is the only batter to breach the milestone in under 100 innings.

Kohli will be looking to get in a big score in the next game against the West Indies and keep the runs coming.
