India vs West Indies 1st ODI Dream11 Predictions, Lineups and more

Team India is all set to host the West Indies in what will be a 3 ODI series and the series is set to begin on the 6th of February, 2022, with the first ODI scheduled to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Team India has not had a great run of games, having come returned from an embarrassing tour of South Africa where they failed to win the series in any of the formats. A series at home is thought to be a bit of a recovery and a chance for the Indians to find their winning form. New skipper Rohit Sharma, who was undergoing fitness regimes for the past few months, is all set to take charge, but the first challenge he has in front of him is the recently discovered COVID outbreak within the lineup. Key players Shikhar Dhawan, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shreyas Iyer, and Navdeep Saini have tested positive for the virus and will be unavailable until they have completed their isolation. Mayank Agarwal and Ishan Kishan have been drafted in as replacements.

The West Indies team is coming to India on the back of a hard-fought series win over the England side. They will be in good spirits and will immediately feel like they have a chance against the host side.

India vs West Indies 1st ODI – Players to Watch

Rohit Sharma

There is no one who can leverage Indian conditions other than the new Indian skipper Rohit Sharma. He has been working on fitness and will be looking to make an impact in his first proper game in charge of the team. We expect Rohit to open the innings for the Indians and with a new role, he will definitely be looking to put in a banger against the Windies.

Virat Kohli

With the pressure of captaincy now off his shoulders, Virat can now get back to doing what he does best – Score Runs. He scored two half-centuries against the South Africans and he will be on the hunt to get his 71st century. The pitch conditions will play in his favor and we should be seeing a vintage Kohli at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Shamarh Brooks

He made his ODI debut for the Windies against the Irish last month, and he was absolutely immense. He amassed a healthy 137 runs in three games and with the Indian side currently in transition, he will be looking to capitalize and get some big innings in.

Alzarri Joseph

He is a bowler who is known to be absolutely lethal with the new ball. His ODI record stands at 64 wickets in just 40 games. The Windies will be relying on him to get the early breakthroughs as they will not want the Indian openers to get settled in.
