Pat Cummins confirms his participation in IPL 2022

After a lot of speculation, it seems that Australian skipper Pat Cummins has finally taken a decision about his participation in the upcoming IPL 2022 tournament. Speaking to officials, he said that he has formally put his name into the pot for the mega auction and is excited to see where he ends up.

The Australia Test skipper has been a regular in the league in past few years. He emerged as the top pick in the IPL 2020 auction and joined Kolkata Kight Riders for Rs 15.5 crore. Though he didn’t have a memorable season and only managed 12 wickets in 14 matches.

Despite his below-par run, he was retained by the Eoin Morgan-led side ahead of IPL 2021. Cummins only played the first half of the league and decided against landing in UAE for the 2nd half. The right-arm pacer remains to be one of the most sought-after players and is expected to bag a huge contract again.

This decision will be a welcome one of the IPL officials who have seen many big players withdraw their names, either due to the ongoing pandemic or due to personal commitments.
