Bharat Arun joins the Kolkata Knight Riders as their new bowling coach

Former India bowling coach Bharat Arun will now take up the same role at Kolkata Knight Riders, the franchise announced ahead of the fifteenth edition of the Indian Premier League. He takes over from Kyle Mills with immediate effect.

Arun, who represented Tamil Nadu in domestic cricket and played 2 Tests and 4 ODIs for India, was until recently part of India’s famed coaching line-up featuring head coach Ravi Shastri and fielding coach R Sridhar. Post his playing days, he also worked as a bowling coach at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore as well as coached the U19 side to World Cup victory in 2012 in Australia.

Arun was initially linked to the Ahmedabad franchise and he was to join the new side along with his recent Indian team colleagues Ravi Shastri and R Sridhar as part of a package deal. But the talks did not materialize.
